Isaiah, Jacob, David, Shaun and Jason played on the Zone 5 Bantam Lacrosse team July 22-25 in Peace River. The team placed 5th overall, in some very good lacrosse action.
PEEWEES WIN PROVINCIAL GOLD MEDAL!!
The Peewee team went undefeated in the Peewee B Tiered Provincials the weekend of July 16/17/18, winning a Provincial Gold Medal. There was a lot of exciting lacrosse played during the weekend, and the final game was no exception ... the Rock defeated the Calgary Knights 8-7 in overtime to win the gold... Congratulations, Peewees! This is the first time a Westlock team has won the GELC B Division to advance to B Tiered Provincials, and winning Gold is awesome!
THE 2010 LACROSSE SEASON IS OVER
The Tyke and Mini-Tyke teams wound up their season at the GELC tournament June 19/20. We saw lots of skill development during the year in our younger players - the future of WLA looks bright!
Novice, Bantam, Midget and Females teams had some very close playoff games but have now been eliminated. All teams had a great season with lots of growth, and ended well.
The Junior Rock team finished the season in 4th place in RMLL Tier II North, and lost out in a close playoff game to the first-place Edmonton Wizards. Great results for our first year in Tier II.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL PLAYERS, COACHES, MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE, AND OUR AWESOME GROUP OF PARENTS WHOSE CONTRIBUTION TO THIS ASSOCIATION HELPS MAKE IT SO MUCH FUN!!!

WE NEED REFEREES! if you are interested in becoming a lacrosse ref, please contact Liz as we need to develop more local ref's. See the ALRA website for more info. WE NEED REFEREES FOR 2011 - we would welcome interested ADULTS as well as PLAYERS.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO PLAY LACROSSE - for Tyke to Midget players:
Helmet with cage; gloves (either hockey or lacrosse gloves); arm and elbow protection; chest protector; kidney protector; athletic protector; mouthguard; shorts; kneepads; practice jersey; lacrosse stick; and a good pair of shoes (basketball, court, or running shoes).
Mini-Tyke players do not need a mouthguard, chest protector, arm protection (just small elbow pads are required), or kidney protector.
Need a mouthguard? check with your dentist - you may be able to get a custom-fitted mouthguard at a reasonable cost.
